Lionel is still listed on the tracker, so I am not sure this is real….
Lmao I hope that’s true. I love this very serious sport.

What shoes was he racing on ?
So unprofessional. And wearing his shades as well.
But it’s “should be” not “shall be”.
Example of a poorly drafted rule. A conditional “provided that the zipper should be” is sloppy.
Rule 6.01 (e) Uniforms with a front zipper may be unzipped to any length, provided, that (i) the zipper should be connected at the bottom of the uniform at all times, and (ii) the top of the uniform should cover the shoulders at all times; (30 or 60 Second Time Penalty (as applicable), DSQ if not remedied promptly). The uniform should be fully zipped when crossing the finish line;
Asics
How many times per year do guys cross the finish line with the suit unzipped? Heck, how many women do? The rule is applied rarely and infrequently.
Matt sharpe got a dq not too long ago . I believe at Augusta ?
It’s a dumb rule brought on by conservative America .
If you see a nipple you are unprofessional.
Meanwhile swimming , sumo, mma, boxing , diving, etc.
So wait. Did he really get DQed? What is the rationale in allowing people to do the whole run with a shirt unzipped but then get disqualified if it’s unzipped at the finish line? Is it mainly to please sponsors who want a picture of their logo at the finish line?
Since the PTN crew is always making fun of this rule, I think they are joking.
Anyone know what happened Tamara Jewett?
Anna Büttner with the fastest run of the day … 1:14:10 and 3rd place. First season as a pro. 2mins behind Kirsten Kasper.
Has a sub-33 minute 10km on her palmares (March) and was #8 in Oceanside. Has spent time injured (car incident) this summer. USF.
How does a golf cart run into bikes on a rack in a closed transition???
Wrong answers only.

Hyrox…where people race basically naked as they can’t cope with a t-shirt.
I was at the race, my husband was competing, it was his 4th time competing in this race. This was the first time it was in La Quinta having been moved from Indian Wells. First time, in La Quinta meaning the Expo, finish and T2 were now at Sliver Rock park vs. the Tennis Center in Indian Wells. I would like to hear what others thought of the venue change. My view is as of a spectator.
Here’s my take…first I’ve been competing in triathlons for nearly 30 years…Ironman to short course all over the world, my husband has been competing just as long. The move to the new venue and the logistics were terrible the worst I’ve ever experienced.
Starting with the parking which was about 1.5 miles from the Expo (registration) and Finish Line,T2 was along the way which was over 1/2 mile from the parking. Yes..it’s the desert, parking was on very fine sand, so this created a ‘dust bowl’, no roads just sand. For registration we parked in the lot, and their ‘shuttle’ service to the Expo/Registration which was one golf cart, and three ATV’s. I felt bad for a family, who had a baby in a stroller, it wasn’t going to fit into the ‘shuttle’, so they walked which most people did. Same situation when bringing gear to T2.
For race day, athletes need to take a shuttle to the lake, we fortunately were able to drive. My understanding, the line to parking (‘dust bowl’) was all backed up, and they had to extend shuttle service an additional half hour.
At the lake, T1…while waiting for the race start, I noticed there were a number of spectators in T1 (not volunteers) in the transition which was surprising. For example, a woman with a baby in a stroller, who looked lost because now she was stuck in transition (transition was closed)
My husband seeded himself near the front (fast swimmer), so I positioned myself near the entrance to the bikes at T1. Prior to the start the staging set-up for the swim, age groupers would exit where they picked up wetsuits on racks, put on their wetsuits, then head to the start down a chute to age group seeding. This chute was the same chute pros were coming up from finishing the swim. Most age groups were already staged at the start by the time pros were coming in, but there were several straggler age groupers who were trying to make their way to the start down the chute but pros were coming trying to go to their bikes. It was a bit chaotic, there was an official there who then started turning back age groupers; told them they had to find another way to get out. The official was even saying it was ‘chaotic’. He had to leave for a moment, said - ‘watch that area’.
From the lake, I made my way back to the ‘dust bowl’ parking lot. Walked through the sand, walked by T2, by that time, my husband was already running. Walked to the finish line, forgot to mention I have a bad hip…need a new one, so as a spectator walking was a bit of a challenge.
Race done, need to make our way to T2 to pick up bike and swim gear bag. The ATV ‘shuttles’ were now driving on the sand next to the road because road had lots of people walking to T2 and parking…this caused a major ‘dust bowl’ as ATV went by. Probably, if tested air quality would not pass DEQ. Husband got his bike, as in past years, many of the swim bags hadn’t made it to T2 for pick-up, so we weren’t surprised, we had to wait an hour plus for his swim bag. Finally, we continued through ‘the dust bowl’ made it back to the SUV, I parked as close to the road as possible, so he wouldn’t have to carry his bike to far, since it couldn’t be pushed through the sand.
Well that’s my spectator’s take on this race as a spectator I give it an ‘F’. My husband’s review as a competitor, it was ‘okay’, but they really need to work on the parking, dust bowl, logistics issues. The course really hadn’t changed much, same lake, basically bike was the same, he liked the run course better than the Indian Wells course.
Sorry it was such a miserable experience for you guys, sounds like an old HITS race they put on out there. We’ve come to expect a lot more from Ironman, certainly for the prices they charge. I hope they can sort it out, this is a great time and place for the race to happen. Your critique would be a great template to start with future changes..
She made a somewhat cryptic post about it on IG. Seems as if the wheels fell off during the bike as it has been the case a few times lately and just didn’t want to death march again. She talks about some private personal stuff going on in her life and, not sure why, but seems to have a bit of a grudge with T100 after she got her butt kicked at the series last year. Hopefully she finds her stride next season.
Nope listen to the pod this week
Covered in more detail than one could ever need.
As I said:
Pat asks why they rescinded the DQ. Because the ‘finish line’ sentence offers no penalty. And it’s a “should” not “shall”.
