Ooof some pretty blatant drafting/non-overtaking by the LP/KM group there. Nobody wanting to go on the front

Welchie: “Brutalful course”

They are going to need to burn some matches on the bike and I think those will result in them running significantly slower than hamburg

As Monty said up thread, in at least one interview Taylor mentioned how in Ryf ‘s record ride Daniela unleashed on the return from Hawi as if that was her plan for today. I guess “we will see”.

Yes - worth bearing in mind how Knibb sent it in that last third of the Taupo bike and gained >2 minutes on Simmonds/Matthews (in fact everyone).

Lee going really well: second Brit on the road.

Don’t think anyone predicts Hamburg (2:38/2:40/2:46) speeds. It’s the differential to LCB that ‘matters’.

I am already running out of energy. I know it isn’t my nutrition as I have taken on plenty of carbs. Maybe not enough caffeine but not sure

I HAVE to tap out and take a nap

back in an hour or so please let me know if I miss anything :joy:

Pretty sure this helmet debuted in Roth - the Lahti helmet was the old one. But they were both Abus athletes if I remember correctly.

Laura used the Rudy Wing Dream in Hamberg i believe

This new helmet is not even on the EU ABUS website (or I can´t find it) - and I don´t see it for sale on webshops. So not a big push from ABUS on this, initially.

Ha!! Loved the ladies talking about big front chainrings and how some went 58, and Greg just throws in the comment there are gears in the back too…Put a 10 on the back and probably have an effective 59 with an actual 56 in comparisons..Put on a 65 with a 14, but it sounds like you are a stud, thanks for that subtle jab at the talking heads Greg..

Lovseth absolutely motoring, third now and well over a minute ahead of Pertere, Kat and Laura, which are at 8 mins (massive for Lucy).

To be fair in NA I don’t recall seeing any ads, but I really like the look of this helmet

Yeah - looks cool. See here: https://www.abus.com/int/News/TimeShifter

Massive move by her, put in over a minute in the past split, commentary is comical, they literally have no idea what is going on. If you aren’t watching the tracker you have no idea what is going on. Greg keeps talking about lovely knee angles …. Wtf???

If this is a game of patience, Knibb having gained no time on LCB (lost what ~1 min from swim gap) is certainly testing that theory at this point imo. If it’s all the tail wind will make for a very interesting final 50 miles.

Impressed to see Clutterbuck holding in with Kat’s group with the season she has had. Also nice to see Skye slowly working her way up the leaderboard recently passing Sodoro.

I can’t believe Knibb won 30W in aerotesting without even trying an aero helmet. Wonder what that baseline test was like. :’)
