That last look (from behind Philipp in wheel 4 (surprise!)) suggested that Matthews was going off the front, slightly gapping Løvseth and all taking time out of the lead.
clearly not though: Løvseth on the front. They’ve caught Sodaro who’s “drifting back”.

Yes she is absolutely hopeless as an announcer. She has no idea what is right in front of her, makes up stuff that isn’t there, and tries too hard to make things sound like a motocross race where things change every second..

Imho Matthews/Philipp just has to keep Charles-Barclay in check ie match her (+6) - and then run that into her. Achieved so far. Philipp has had to ride in the wind a fair bit, till Løvseth and Matthews caught them. since then she’s been in the legal draft, mostly.
To 25 miles: LCB 59:35, Matthews 59:45, Knibb 59:50 Pierre 59:59 (riding time)
