I made it until 3:30 Christmas Eve afternoon, when I was in the car, picking up a tray of meatballs to take to my brother’s house for our family gathering
The first notes played, D’Kid proclaimed “You’re dead, Dad”

then continued on with her own accompaniment, complete with hand gestures and fake tears

I made it, however I was a bit nervous. Had to drive an hour up to my boyhood home and my daughter wanted Christmas music. I figured I wouldn’t make it but thankfully it never played.
“They intend to have the master tapes shipped to a nuclear waste site ‘where it’ll rest for at least two million years’”

I finally heard it today at a coffee shop in Stockholm.
I am again a victim.

I finally heard it today at a coffee shop in Stockholm.
Last year I made it to December 30th.
This year I was out on December 2nd. I was in Vegas this weekend and heard it in the hotel elevator Saturday morning.
I kind of like the first round of getting Whamageddon’ed, as long as it’s post-Thanksgiving.
First time I can recall hearing the song was my junior year abroad studying in England in the mid-'90s. It was a great year and I have good associations with the song, so first time hearing it each year is a happy thing, as long as it’s not before Thanksgiving has even happened.
Now, after 29 listens in the month of Dec., I admit it can get a tad overdone…but first time hearing it each year - all good.

I think the radio started playing Christmas songs the day after Rememberance Day, I was out 2 days later.
Officially starts on Dec 1st so if you haven’t heard it in December, you are still good. For me, yeah I heard it Nov 12th and probably every day since. If there a prize for most listens, I am possibly top 5 in the world.
