Ya that’s what I predicted earlier, need it to pitch up steep and then make that move, lots of rolling downhill to start to increase the lead. Lovseth really didnt make up ground on Taylor on that downhill, remember Taylor stopped dead to refuel, while the latter rode through and passed up her bag. That’s at least 30 seconds right there..

The gap is pretty significant, but Kat and Laura look good
I wouldn’t say they look good, all pre race predictions where for Kat to be pulling Laura once together, and Kat seems to be struggling to me. Looking good is relative too, going backwards since the start of the bike doesnt look so good..

Wonder if it was for that dropped bottle caught on camera in the middle of the road, was pretty blatant. The commentators tried to brush it off ‘oh there a bottle, may have already been there’ lol wtf when LCB is in the lead…
Here we go!! Uphill and Lucy has got a ticket to the struggle bus, but think this was her plan all along. Hang on the easy parts as long as possible, then ride smartly to limit losses from here to T2. So fair play to Taylor, last year she got the 1 minute penalty, so this year Lucy has to deal. But this could give her some incentive to ride harder now, is the tent coming up where she gets a rest and recover minute?

Lucy won’t be able to use the race range and get that legal draft off Taylor and we’ll have to burn some serious matches to catch back up which I don’t think she can do
She’ll have to ride solo and then it becomes a serious running race
Let’s see how Lucy adapts. Knibb has looked solid
